When I came across the local development theories of Le Heron, the competition of cities of Begg and Martin, the location theory of McCann, the role of social capital in the development of cities as developed by Italian theorists but also the newer -and more human-centered approaches- of Florida in Rise of the Creative Class and Landry in Creative city but especially in Art of city-making, the interest was transformed into a conscious professional orientation.
