At the initiative of the Municipality of Pyli, the official presentation of the **updated and approved Emergency Response and Immediate\/Short-Term Consequence Management Plans for natural disasters and extreme weather events took place in the City Hall\u2019s council chamber.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presented plans include:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • “DARDANOS 2” \u2013 for flood response<\/span><\/li>\n
  • “ENKELADOS 2” \u2013 for earthquake response<\/span><\/li>\n
  • “IOLAOS 2” \u2013 for forest fire response<\/span><\/li>\n
  • “BOREAS” \u2013 for snowfall and frost events<\/span><\/li>

  • <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Welcoming remarks were delivered by:<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Mayor of Pyli, Mr. Konstantinos Maravas, <\/span><\/p>\n

    The Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection, Mr. Christos Ziakas, The Director of Civil Protection of the Region of Thessaly, Ms. Eleanna Porichi, The Head of the Trikala Regional Unit, Mr. Stefanos Folinas.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The introductory presentation was given by Mr. Spyros Apostolopoulos, Head of the Department of Environment, Urban Planning, and Technical Services of the Municipality of Pyli and responsible for Civil Protection. He emphasized the importance of the technical support provided by an external consultant, in cooperation with the Municipality\u2019s relevant services, in updating the plans based on the National Civil Protection Framework.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The keynote speaker was Mr. Vasileios Anagnostou, environmental expert and consultant for Lever \u2013 Development Consultants S.A., part of the \u201cSamaras & Partners\u201d Group, who provided an in-depth presentation of the structure, operational scenarios, and key risk management tools included in the four plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Using audiovisual materials, Mr. Anagnostou explained how the plans enhance the rapid, coordinated, and effective response of all stakeholders at the local level. He stressed the importance of preparedness during crises and the interoperability of municipal structures, noting:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cEffective emergency management requires synergy, collaboration, and interoperability among all involved. Proactive planning and activating response scenarios save lives and infrastructure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

    He concluded his presentation by highlighting the preparation and training actions needed, as well as the importance of local plans as dynamic tools for civil protection.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The event was also attended by local elected officials and municipal staff, representatives of the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the Fire Service, the Hellenic Army NCO Academy, and local community presidents<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
