The plan for the creation of an Open Historical Park in the Municipality of Oraiokastro is currently in full development, under the initiative of Mayor Mr. Pantelis Tsakiris. The project, which is being implemented with the support of “Lever \u2013 Development Consultants S.A.”, a member of the “Samaras & Associates Group”, falls under the framework of the contract for “Providing services for the development of a strategic plan for the utilization of the Municipality of Oraiokastro\u2019s historical heritage for the creation of a ‘Historical Park'”.<\/span><\/p>

During the event held at the municipal building “Pavlos Melas” in Paleokastro, titled “Showcasing the Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Oraiokastro”, the importance of the municipality\u2019s scattered historical and cultural assets was highlighted: World War I fortifications, observation posts, churches, archaeological sites, and natural resources will be recorded and studied in order to showcase their historical value.<\/span><\/p>

Mayor Pantelis Tsakiris stated:<\/span><\/p>

“In the Municipality of Oraiokastro, we possess resources of invaluable archaeological and cultural significance. In 2019, I took the initiative to highlight this wealth and to create a major Historical Park in our municipality that will become our cultural brand name. We aim to place Oraiokastro on the map of historical and cultural routes and attract visitors from all over the world. The plan for utilizing our cultural assets is in full progress, and we hope it will be successfully completed.”<\/span><\/p>

The event was also greeted by Metropolitan Platon of Langadas, Liti, and Rentini, and Father Nektarios Lagoudakis, representing the Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis. Presentations were delivered by Dr. Despoina Charitou, Dr. Vlasis Vlasidis, and Ms. Lia Drosou.<\/span><\/p>

From the company Lever \u2013 Development Consultants S.A., Mr. Stylianos Angelidis and Mr. Ilias Giarmatzidis presented the strategic plan for the utilization of the municipality\u2019s cultural resources and emphasized\u00a0 the role of cultural\u00a0<\/span>routes in highlighting\u00a0<\/span>the area\u2019s cultural heritage.<\/span><\/p>
