Water Safety Plans (WSPs) ensure the provision of clean and safe drinking water at the local level. They include risk assessment and the implementation of protective measures at all stages of the water supply system.

ISSUE

Water utilities are required to prepare Water Safety Plans (WSPs) according to Ministerial Decision D1(d)/GP oik. 27829 (Official Gazette B’ 3525/25.05.2023), incorporating European Directive 2020/2184 on drinking water quality. Providers must complete WSPs including risk assessment and management by January 12, 2029.
