The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is a strategic plan designed to meet the mobility needs of people and goods in cities and their surrounding areas, with the aim of improving quality of life. It is based on key principles such as integration, participatory processes, and evaluation.

As part of the development of the SUMP, the Municipality of Kileler aims to outline a framework for implementing interventions and investments to upgrade the local urban transport network.

The in-person consultation, held as part of the participatory process of the SUMP, took place at the Nikaia Town Hall, with the Mayor, Deputy Mayors, Presidents of Local Communities, municipal officials, representatives of local organizations, and residents in attendance.

The topics discussed during the consultation included:

  • Analysis of the current situation
  • Alternative mobility management scenarios
  • The initial shared vision of the SUMP
  • SUMP priorities

The presentation was delivered by Mr. Giorgos Barbas, Director, and Ms. Stefania Markada of the Transport Planning & Sustainable Mobility Department at Lever Development Consultants S.A.

This was followed by a discussion, during which all attendees had the opportunity to share their views on the topics presented. The participants expressed enthusiasm for the continuation of the SUMP and envisioned a municipality with improved mobility conditions.

All feedback was recorded by the Lever study team and will be taken into account in the next steps of the plan, particularly in shaping the proposed measures of the SUMP.
