On September 10, the 1st Regional Meeting of Crete took place in Archanes, Heraklion, within the framework of the project “Smart Tourism – Smart Destinations: Accessibility, Sustainability, Digitalisation, Cultural Heritage & Creativity” (acronym: Smart Tour), which was organized by the Heraklion Development Authority (AEA), Lead Partner of the project. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Region of Crete, local government bodies, museums, cultural and tourism organizations, as well as professional networks.
The company “Lever – Development Consultants S.A.”, a member of the “Samaras & Associates” group, was present at the meeting, being the Contractor for the interregional administration, management and coordination of the project, actively contributing to the discussions on smart and sustainable tourism. It is noted that within the framework of this assignment, a Management & Coordination Unit (MCU) has been created, which supports the AEI as the lead partner and the other project partners on a daily basis. At the same time, it prepares and supports the meetings of the Project Management Committee, organizes thematic workshops and progress reports, monitors and controls the costs, ensuring the smooth and efficient development of the project.
With many years of experience in the management and coordination of Interreg Europe projects, Lever has specialized expertise in organizing multi-level collaborations and ensuring the effective implementation of complex European initiatives. Furthermore, through the Research and European Projects Department, the company has developed extensive experience in submitting funding proposals to a variety of European and international programs (Horizon Europe, LIFE, EuropeAid, Creative Europe, Erasmus+, etc.), strengthening its position as a reliable partner and strategic development advisor for public and private entities. Lever’s participation in Smart Tour confirms its leading role in managing innovative projects that promote sustainable development, digitalization and strengthening the competitiveness of European regions.
