A modern, colorful, pleasing to the eye and with a direct reference to the name of the city, is the logo chosen for the Open Mall by the shopkeepers of Amfilochia. The logo, as well as the study of the regeneration of the streets and shops participating in the program, were presented on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at an information event that took place in the event hall of the City Hall with a significant presence of representatives of the economic life of the place and which was co-organized by the Chamber of Etoloakarnania and the Municipality of Amfilochia.

The two speakers from the company that has undertaken the study of the project as well as the person responsible for implementing the Open Mall on behalf of the Chamber of Etoloakarnania, Mr. George Robolas, presented to the professionals the new logo, the symbolism to which it refers, as well as the process followed, from its creation to its final selection through voting.

The logo, which was chosen among 19 proposals by the shopkeepers themselves, was characterized as “modern”, “representative” and that “it refers to our city and its market”, and will henceforth be the trademark of the Open Mall Amfilochia.

At the same time, the project implementation study was presented in detail at the event, which includes interventions in the low-traffic streets of Theodorou Chavini and Vasiliou Karapanou, with the aim of creating a unified aesthetic and highlighting the city’s unique architecture. For this purpose, interventions are being planned that include the placement of uniform paving stones on the road surface, the replacement of lighting columns, the placement of air-conditioned parking and flower pots in front of the stores, while constructions are planned that will ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.

With yesterday’s presentation, the final phase of implementation of the Open Mall of Amfilochia officially begins, while the bidding procedures are expected to have begun by the end of the year.

It is worth noting that in his presentation at yesterday’s event, the Chamber’s responsible for the implementation of the project, George Robolas, observed that although the approved Open Mall projects are around 70 throughout Greece, the Open Mall of Amfilochia is among the approximately 20 that are progressing at a rapid pace and are being selected to be implemented as soon as possible.

For his part, the Mayor of Amfilochia, Giorgos Katsoulas, stressed the special importance of this project in view of the unpleasant international conditions that create suffocating pressures on trade, while he thanked both the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Aitoloakarnania, Panagiotis Tsichritzis, and the President of the Federation of Professionals-Craftsmen-Traders of Amfilochia, Apostolos Avgerinos, for the excellent cooperation aimed at implementing the project. At the same time, he stressed that the municipal authority will always be open to ideas and proposals aimed at local development and will stand by the struggling citizens and traders of the Municipality of Amfilochia.

The presentation of the Image and Trademark of the Open Mall Amfilochia was made by Mr. Vasilios Blesio, CMO of Lever SA, while the presentation of the Special Architectural Study was carried out by Mrs. Marina Dede, Architect-Engineer, NTUA, March UCLA.
