Debt collection service is the organized process through which businesses or authorized third parties (such as collection agencies) undertake the recovery of outstanding amounts owed by clients or debtors. The goal of the debt collection service is to ensure cash flow and reduce doubtful accounts through communication with the debtor, settlement arrangements, out-of-court actions, or legal proceedings when deemed necessary.

ISSUE

First and second level LGOs are required to take measures on uncollected receivables, which arise if revenue is not collected within two months of its confirmation. If debtors do not pay or request a payment arrangement, the LGO can proceed with ‘compulsory’ or other collection measures.
