Polykarpos Karkavitsas, General Manager of “Lever – Development Consultants S.A.,” a member of the “Samaras & Partners Group,” focused in his presentation at the 1st Forward Green Expo on funding issues as well as the opportunities offered by NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework), the Recovery Fund, the Green Fund, and other European Programs.

At the Forum titled “Circular Transport, Electric Vehicles, Electric Vehicle Chargers and Charging Plans for Electric Vehicles,” organized by HELEXPO Thessaloniki in collaboration with Improvetech and the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce, participants also included Mr. Ioannis Xifaras, Secretary General of Transport; Mr. Nikolaos Davos, Co-founder and Manager of the Bioeconomy and Environment Cluster of Western Macedonia (CluBE); and Mr. Arch. Lyubomir Stanislavov, CEO of the Bulgarian Automotive Cluster.

During his remarks, Mr. Karkavitsas (first from the right in the photo) also emphasized how the principles of the circular economy can be integrated into the sustainable mobility sector. Among other points, he stated:

“The challenge for cities now should be to increase the share of energy consumed by the transport sector that comes from renewable energy sources. This can be achieved by focusing on three main action axes:

✅ Promoting green mobility (electromobility, alternative modes of transportation),

✅ Reducing the number of trips through the digital transformation of cities, and

✅ Balancing energy consumption with production from renewable energy sources.”
