- Support of the county’s competent ownership, administration and management of real monuments and organised archaeological sites.
- Drawing up a management plan-framework for the rescue, protection, restoration and promotion of these monuments and sites.
- Inclusion in funding programmes.
- Preparation of studies within the framework of the applicable national legislation and the International Principles governing interventions on monuments.
- Execution of works by the competent bodies in accordance with the legislation in force.
- Supporting the competent bodies in undertaking outward-looking actions to promote the project in question in society and its contribution to sustainable development.

- Prevention of deterioration factors, elimination of threatening risks to archaeological sites and monuments.
- Preservation of their morphological and structural characteristics and upgrading and enhancement of their values and content.
- Improving the conditions of visitation, making it possible for the public to use them, and gaining knowledge and experience.
