We rationally plan the location and operation of electromobility support infrastructure for the transition of urban transport to the era of zero environmental footprint.
THE ISSUE
- Complete dependence of transport on the consumption of fossil fuels
- Significant contribution of the sector to the greenhouse effect
- In recent decades, an international effort has been made to promote electric mobility in order to significantly reduce these impacts.
SOLUTIONS
- Development of a methodology for locating publicly accessible electric vehicle charging points in urban environments with application in more than 50 Municipalities.
- Conducting online surveys to investigate the willingness to pay for electric vehicle charging services.
- Preparation of initial cost-benefit analyses to evaluate alternative ways of implementing and operating charging infrastructures by Municipalities
- Participation in a preliminary feasibility study for the routing of an electric bus in an area of Athens.
- Studies of Municipal Transport routing using electric buses
- Incorporation of proposals for electric bicycles within the framework of the SUMPs to serve daily travel in areas with special conditions (geomorphology, street layout, etc.)
RESULT
- Electricity is expected to change the way cities operate in the near future.
- Planning for Greek Municipalities will have a solid foundation and ensure a smooth transition to the next day.
