Within the framework of the contract for the provision of Internal Audit services in the Region of Western Macedonia, the company “Lever – Development Consultants S.A.” of the “Samaras & Associates” group has undertaken the support, guidance, as well as theoretical and practical training on issues related to the implementation of an integrated Internal Audit System. The audit is applied to six Departments of the Region, which usually present high-level risks. More specifically, the services of “Lever – Development Consultants S.A.” will focus on the Departments of Budget and Financial Reporting, Treasury Service, Personnel and Payroll, Financial-Accounting Management, as well as Project Maturity and Studies.
In particular, the specialized and certified team of “Lever – Development Consultants S.A.”, with the guidance, training and general support it will provide, will contribute to the formation and establishment of an Internal Audit System that will create the conditions for the development of the following pillars:
- Internal Audit Unit Operating Regulation
- Mapping and assessment of the risks that may exist
- Harmonization of the personnel and important Departments of the Region’s organizational chart with the Internal Audit Standards, for the gradual development of an Internal Audit culture
- Suggestions for improving possible risks that will be assessed as risks for improvement
- Improvement of effectiveness and efficiency, where areas for strengthening by the Internal Audit authorities are likely to be encountered
